Second RM500 Cash Aid (BR1M) in Budget 2013?

The government will announce a second round of RM500 cash aid (BR1M) handouts to underprivileged households under Malaysia Budget 2013, in a move that is expected to boost the ratings of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition ahead of the general election expected to be called early next year.

“The second BR1M RM500 Cash will be paid out as part of the Tax Budget 2013,” a government source told The Malaysian Insider.



BR1M (RM500 Aid) To Continue? Prime Minister Hinted

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has spoken of the goodies for the people in Malaysia Budget 2013, hinting that the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M RM500 Cash) scheme could continue.

He said the Government could afford to do so as it had done a good job in managing the economy.


PM Najib Is considering second BR1M RM500

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is looking into a proposal to make a second payment of the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (RM500 Cash).

Najib said BRIM was one of the promises made by the Barisan Nasional government to reduce the financial burden of the people.


Second Round BR1M (RM500) Is Proposed?

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has proposed to the Cabinet that a second round of the RM500 Cash 1Malaysia People’s Aid be given out.

“I informed the prime minister that if we have the money, we should distribute the BR1M a second time,” he said, “the matter was discussed by the Cabinet at its weekly meeting on Wednesday.”.

  1. One time aid of BR1M will not ease people’s burden anyway. May be monthly payment of RM500.00 will reduce people’s burden from the looters(businessmen).

  3. @Kelly, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said “Those who feel they were eligible but were unsuccessful for various reasons would have to put in fresh applications”.

    In a way, you may submit a fresh application again.

Yes, a payment of RM500/- per month for Sr Citizen should be thought of and decided for implementation for all senior citizens of this country who do not receive any form of pension from the government. Prime Minister please consider this payments for old folks who cant work anymore. Thank you.

  7. I received BRIM for 2013. My application for BRIM was rejected for 2014. I am a senior citizen and a widow. Can I still appeal for my BRIM for 2014. The 2015 BRIM application is soon to implement. As a senior citizen I am loosing my BRIM as my Honorable Prime Minister has entitled those who are widowed to receive BRIM. I hope some official will help me out. Thank you.
