Socso Sends Out Free Health Screening Vouchers to 1.9m Members

KUALA LUMPUR (24 January 2013): The Social Security Organisation (Socso) has completed the process of sending out free health screening vouchers to the 1.9 million eligible members, deputy chief executive officer (operations) Datuk Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said today.

He urged those who had not received the vouchers to contact Socso’s hotlines at 03-42521258/03-42524475/76 and 03-42525089, or the nearest Socso office.  Continue reading

SOCSO: 1.9 Million Members Eligible For Free Health Screening

KUALA LUMPUR (16 October 2012) : Some 1.9 million workers aged 40 and above who are contributors to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) are eligible for a free health screening beginning January next year.

Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam said this was to identify those at risk of getting non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, as well as to check cholesterol levels, and for prostate cancer in men and cervical/breast cancer in women through Pap smear/mammogram.  Continue reading

SOCSO: Free Check-Ups for Members Aged 40 to 55

KUALA LUMPUR (3 October 2012): STARTING Jan 1 next year, some 1.4 million private sector employees will enjoy free medical screening amounting to RM200 million, as announced by the prime minister in the 2013 Budget.

What Is SOCSO (PERKESO)?

What is SOCSO or Perkeso?

SOCSO (Social Security Organization), also known as PERKESO (Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial), was established in 1971 under the Ministry of Human Resources (formerly known as Ministry of Labour) to provide social security protections to all employees/workers in Malaysia.

Functions of SOCSO

The functions of SOCSO (PERKESO) are as follows:

  1. Registration of employers and employees
  2. Collection of contribution from employers and employees
  3. Payment of benefits to workers and/or their dependents when tragedy strikes
  4. Provision of physical and vocational rehabilitation benefits
  5. promotion of awareness of occupational safety and health
