Why change company’s name?
There are many reasons you may want to change your company’s name and some of it are as follows:
- Change in management / shareholding structure
- Change of business direction / business activities
- Change of image / Rebranding
- Change company’s name for shelf company

What do we need from you?
A desired name of your choice.
However, the proposed name is subject to the approval by the Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM or Companies Commission of Malaysia).
Waste no time, just tell us your new company’s name and we will do the rest for you.
Important notes to you
The Old/Former Name must be displayed together with the NEW Company Name for a period of 12 months from the date of change of company’s name.
For example:
New Company Sdn. Bhd.
(Formerly known as Old Company Sdn. Bhd.)
OR
New Company Sdn. Bhd.
(f.k.a. Old Company Sdn. Bhd.)
Failing to display the old name within the first 12 months period will result in action taken or penalty charged by SSM.
The procedures for change of company’s name
- Company Name Search Application lodged with SSM
- Once approval from SSM is obtained, the Board of Directors is to approve on the change of name by passing Board Resolution
- A general meeting of shareholders/members will be convened for approving change of company’s name
- Lodgement of Form 11 to SSM for change of company’s name
- Finally, Borang 13 will be issued by SSM within 2 working days.

Our total fee and disbursement shall be at ONLY RM500 and include the following:
- Name search filing fee to SSM (each company name application = RM50)
- Filing fee to SSM for change of name
- New company’s common seal

- Out of pocket expenses (telephone, forms, printing, courier, etc)
